Following the successful conclusion of the 2015 conference in Huhhot (Inner Mongolia, China), the 8th International Freiberg Conference will once again be back in Germany.

The upcoming conference will be taking place from 12-16 June 2016 in Cologne, which is situated near the Rhenish lignite mining region. This event is jointly organised by the Institute of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering (IEC), TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the Institute for Chemical Processing of Coal (Zabrze, Poland).

The event will focus on innovative coal value chains and its scope will include the entire coal value chain from mining to conversion and chemical utilisation.
